American Foster Futures runs a national campaign for systemic change while delivering direct support so foster youth across the country can graduate, find stable housing, and build independent lives.
Foster youth lack access to traditional family and social structures that create the foundation for achieving educational success. The combination of traumatic experience, unstable living conditions, and fractured relationships results in higher rates of criminal conviction, homelessness, addiction, and mental health challenges.
American Foster Futures is dedicated to empowering foster youth by advocating for systemic improvements in state and federal policies and delivering nationwide access to educational, housing, and transitioning-out-of-care services through virtual programs and community partnerships.
Unwavering honesty and transparency in everything we do.
We meet every young person with empathy and honor their potential.
We build powerful partnerships to maximize reach and impact.
Creating a network of belonging, resilience, and opportunity.
"Without AFF's help navigating the tuition waiver process and finding stable housing, I would never have made it to my second year of college. They didn't just advocate — they showed up for me."
"The reciprocity work they're doing matters so much. I was able to transfer to a specialized program out of state because they fought for cross-state recognition of my waiver. It changed everything."
"AFF connected me with a mentor, helped me with my first apartment application, and made sure I had the resources to finish high school. I finally feel like I have a real future."
Pushing every state to adopt strong foster youth tuition waivers modeled after Texas + reciprocity between states.
